Frequently asked
Straight answers.
Is DiatomWeave a finished product?
No. It is a development-stage engineered textile concept. Commercial products are not currently offered.
Has DiatomWeave demonstrated bedbug-control efficacy?
No. The proposed physical mechanism and efficacy remain unverified pending prototype manufacture and appropriately controlled testing.
Are the fiber images microscope photographs?
No. They are conceptual renderings used to communicate design intent. They are not prototype photographs, micrographs, or manufacturing specifications.
Does DiatomWeave use insecticides or powders?
The design objective is a continuous fiber architecture without added insecticides, powders, or loose particles. Actual composition and performance will depend on prototype development.
Is the technology patented?
The website makes no issued-patent claim. A provisional patent application, if and when filed, would be an application only; it would not establish patent issuance, freedom to operate, or efficacy.
Do research letters of interest validate the technology?
No. A letter of interest may indicate willingness to discuss or consider work. It is not a research result, endorsement, formal collaboration, or proof of efficacy unless a definitive agreement and results say otherwise.
Who can partner with DiatomWeave?
Relevant capabilities include polymer and fiber forming, spinneret design, yarn and textile production, microscopy, mechanical testing, entomology, application qualification, commercialization, and aligned investment.
