Development & validation

Evidence before assertion.

A transparent program for answering the questions that matter: can it be made, measured, used safely, and shown to perform?

Current status

Development-stage. Hypothesis-led.

DiatomWeave’s proposed mechanism and efficacy are unverified. Concept renderings are not prototype photographs. Research interest or letters of interest—if referenced in future—must not be interpreted as validation, endorsement, testing results, or a formal research partnership.

Roadmap

Each milestone answers a different question.

Phase 1 · Current

Design definition & IP strategy

Specify geometry ranges, assess prior art with qualified counsel, and document design intent. Any provisional patent application, if filed, would indicate an application—not an issued patent, proven performance, or freedom to operate.

Phase 2 · Planned

Prototype manufacture

Run fiber-forming trials and determine whether intended features can be produced with useful consistency.

Phase 3 · Planned

Material characterization

Use microscopy and mechanical methods to document geometry, durability, wear, and shedding.

Phase 4 · Required

Controlled efficacy & safety evaluation

Predefine endpoints, use comparators and controls, document results, and seek independent review where appropriate.

Research collaboration

Help build a rigorous test program.

We invite qualified materials scientists, textile engineers, entomology laboratories, and measurement specialists to discuss defined work packages.
